We would like to share with you some of our favorite spots in each country that we have visited, such as bakeries, cheese shops, artisan stores, and restaurants!

Berglunds Bageri
Artisan Bread, Pastry & Sandwich Shop
Location: 3 Sandbacka Street, 812 93 Kungsgården, Sweden
From fields to table! Berglund's flour cannot get any more organic or local. Marianne and Helge Berglund own a FARM within 5 minutes of their traditional bakery, which is home to their fields of organic grains and their traditional Osttiroler Getreidemühlen stone mill. The Berglunds personally mill the flour upon demand in order to serve the locals the FRESHEST bread and pastries in the region! Everything from the bread, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, homebrewed coffee and tea served in Marianne’s adorable collection of antique tea cups, to the smiles on their coworker’s faces make Berglunds one of our favorite spots in Sweden. Astrid's Ostkioskien
Cheese Shop
Location: Norrby 341, 82292 Alfta, Sweden
AMAZING and traditional Swedish cheese, handmade everyday from the family's own Swedish cows which you can spot grazing in the fields behing the centuries-old farm house. Astrid (the cheesemaker) sells her cheese at her cheese stand or "ostkiosken." Equipped with a fridge, notebook, and money jar, Astrid's ostkiosken runs on a honesty-based system. Choose your selection from the fridge, write down what you purchase and leave the money in the money box. Try their famous ostkaka or Swedish "cheesecake." They tend to sell out by noon, so make sure to go in the morning. Tell Susan and Astrid we say Hej!

Take a tour, walk around to learn about Ostriches, check out their Guinness world record Ostrich eggs, and make sure to try their homemade gelato made with ostrich eggs!!
