From fields to table! Berglund's flour cannot get any more organic or local. Marianne and Helge Berglund own a FARM within 5 minutes of their traditional bakery, which is home to their fields of organic grains and their traditional Osttiroler Getreidemühlen stone mill. The Berglunds personally mill the flour upon demand in order to serve the locals the FRESHEST bread and pastries in the region! Everything from the bread, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, homebrewed coffee and tea served in Marianne’s adorable collection of antique tea cups, to the smiles on their coworker’s faces make Berglunds one of our favorite spots in Sweden. If you visit, tell the crew we say Hej!
AMAZING and traditional Swedish cheese, handmade everyday from the family's own Swedish cows which you can spot grazing in the fields behing the centuries-old farm house. Astrid (the cheesemaker) sells her cheese at her cheese stand or "ostkiosken." Equipped with a fridge, notebook, and money jar, Astrid's ostkiosken runs on a honesty-based system. Choose your selection from the fridge, write down what you purchase and leave the money in the money box. Try their famous ostkaka or Swedish "cheesecake." They tend to sell out by noon, so make sure to go in the morning. Tell Susan and Astrid we say Hej!
